If you are similar to the majority of the population of the UK in the fact that you own a microwave but rarely clean it, you don’t have to stress and use a huge amount of elbow grease to get it looking like new. Cleaning the inside of a microwave oven is really easy if you follow these simple steps.

To clean a microwave oven you need a few things: a microfibre cloth or a dishcloth, a microwavable bowl, water and a magic ingredient… a lemon.

To clean the microwave you have to:

• Cut the lemon in half and squeeze all the juice into a small bowl of water
• Microwave the lemon/water mixture on max power for a few minutes until the steam from the water condenses on the walls of the microwave
• Carefully remove the bowl from the microwave. The water will be VERY HOT
• Wipe the inside of the microwave with a microfibre cloth or dishcloth. You’ll be amazed at how easy it is to remove the stuck on food and debris.

It’s really easy to clean a microwave if you have a lemon. And you won’t just have a clean microwave after you’ve finished, you’ll also have a fresh smelling kitchen!
