The dishwasher is one of those kitchen items that because it does a cleaning job itself we rarely give any thought to the fact it may need to be cleaned in its own right. In this article we’ll continue with our hints and tips to get the best results from your ‘clean’ dishwasher.

Dishwasher cleaning additive

You’ll find that most supermarkets will stock specific dishwasher cleaning agents. Using these can be a good idea to remove grime and dirt from the inside of the dishwasher and are usually really easy to use. Just place the cleaner in the dishwasher and turn it on (without anything else in the dishwasher) and when the cycle is finished the inside of your dishwasher should sparkle.

Cleaning around the edges

The seals around the washer door and at the top of the dishwasher door can get really grubby after a few months. It’s easy to wipe these over with warm soapy water. Grease can get trapped around the seals so pay careful attention when cleaning these.

Like any kitchen appliance your dishwasher will give you years of use if you kook after it properly and clean it on a regular basis.
